A F S Report 2024-25

The Annual Financial Statement (AFS) is the total summary of a Grama Panchayat's income and expenditure for a financial year. Local Self-Government Institutions in Kerala prepare these reports using the 'Saankhya' software.

The key details regarding the AFS are provided below:

1. What does the AFS Report contain?

It consists of four major sections that clarify the financial position of a Panchayat:

  • Income and Expenditure Account: The actual income and expenditure of the Panchayat for that year.
  • Receipts and Payments: The total account of cash transactions that took place.
  • Balance Sheet: The Assets and Liabilities of the Panchayat.
  • Schedules: Detailed lists of taxes, grants, loans, etc.

2. How to view this report online?

You can check the AFS report of any Panchayat through the following government portals:

  • LSGD Kerala Portal: Visit the website lsgkerala.gov.in, navigate via the 'AFS' link, select the district, Panchayat, and year to download the report.
  • Saankhya: Double-entry accounting information of Panchayats is available here.
  • Audit Reports: The AIMS portal can be used to view audit reports prepared based on the AFS.

3. Key Deadlines

  • Once the financial year ends (March 31), the AFS must be prepared and approved by the Panchayat governing body within the next three months (usually by June 30).
  • Subsequently, it must be submitted to the Local Fund Audit Department for verification by July 31.
